The Fox and the Grapes

A hungry fox was walking along a road when he saw some grapes hanging down from a vine. The fox tried many different ways to get the grapes, but they were just beyond his reach. Jumping didn't work, climbing didn't work, and he couldn't even hit them down with a stick.

Tired and weary from trying so hard, the fox decided to keep walking--without the grapes. He could be heard trying to make himself feel better: "Those grapes were probably sour anyway."

THE END.

IDIOM EXPLAINED:

People use the phrase "sour grapes" whenever they hear someone talking bad about something just because they couldn't get it.
